When you have a pattern that is a webpage, paper, or any format that isn’t a PDF, follow these steps to add it to your knitCompanion.

If you don’t see PDFs be sure to tap PDFs on the right side first.

Navigate your Dropbox and tap any PDF to import it.

Tap Local to see the PDF and tap the local PDF to view it.

Tap any Library item to import the PDF.

To download from Ravelry, your pattern must be a Ravelry Download that you have access to.

If your device always opens a PDF with the same app, and won’t let you chose which app to use, you need to clear your device’s default app setting.

knitCompanion will appear in both Send file… and Open with… Below are some examples.

Android: It is often in the menu with 3 dots.

Mac: From knitCompanion home page select File/Open menu.
